Photography to Admire and Inspire

I've been so lucky to have such great friends. We all seem to help each other out. A new friend, Kathy, runs a great art gallery in Washington Depot, CT called KMR galleries. She is being so kind to place some incredible pieces in my showroom. It's a great way to see how the artwork will work in a space that looks like a home.

Take a look at some of these beautiful black and whites taken by Marcia Lippman from her West Point Collection. Have fun and think where you might place in your home!

For the Love of Horses

Looking at these incredible photos of the wild horses of Sable Island, taken by Roberto Dutesco, all you want to know is, how did he do that? and please can I have one! Each photo puts you in a trance, each amazing close-up, each incredible long shot. Especially if you love horses, which I do. I also love to incorporate something "horse" in my interior design jobs whenever I can, if my clients have the same love.

My showroom, having a definite horse influence, Cobble Court Interiors, located at 13 South Ave in New Canaan, CT has the privelage of showing Roberto's amazing shots. If you're in the area, definitely well worth the stop, to check out these wonderful pieces of artwork. Maybe you'll love one enough to enjoy at your home.

Collecting: Friends and Accessories

Birthday's are great! I just enjoyed another and spent a great Friday night together with a collection of such great friends (Ms. Sue, Marybeth, Marybeth, Parker, Chris, Devon, Maggie and, my partner, Steven) We enjoyed an incredible meal at one of our local restaurants, here in New Canaan, Connecticut, Thali Regional Cusine of India. Recommend, believe it or not, trying their margaritas. Plus their entire menu of very tasty cusine. Everything turned out great!

I started collecting some years back English biscuit jars and Steven surprised me with one really beautiful glass jar with sterling silver stand and lid. One of the most unique jars I've seen. I really love my new addition to the collection.

OTTOMAN on the loose!

Nothing like adding a little attention grabber to your library or office. Prized for decades by fine Italian accessory manufacturers, this super-luxurious aniline-dyed hide with hair is perfect for upholstery, especially seats and cushions. Laser Cavallo is a newly developed technique involving a laser process which has resulted in one of the most unusual leathers available. This hair-on leather incorporates dazzling colors with an incised pattern, creating a distinctly unique product. Not to mention a rooms stand out!  Check out the recent issue of Fairfield County Home Magazine were this wonderful home was published!

Have Fun!

Great Dinner with Bob and Ted of East End Brass

We had a great dinner on Saturday night with new wonderful friend Bob and Ted of East End Brass. They have a beautiful home in Rowayton, CT and love to be by the water for boating and outdoor activities with their three children.

Ted started East End Brass in Boston and relocated the company to Darien, CT. They offer amazing custom lighting options for designers. They will custom color any of their lights and custom finish an of the fittings. Also, if you require a specific size or shape, they have all the capabilities. We love the line and use it on all our projects.
